KenyaHELP was created in 2003 in response to the Green Bay First United Methodist Church Kenyan Mission Team’s desire to make a difference in the lives of impoverished young Kenyans.
Members of the KenyaHELP board of directors have traveled to Kenya annually in conjunction with a Mission Trip from First United Methodist Church. The board members visit with many of the KenyaHELP students, providing encouragement and support. The past few years, the members have visited the students’ homes and schools to understand their challenges and opportunities.
The KenyaHELP scholarship students also work with the mission team to perform community service, including cleaning the local hospital grounds and working with a local orphanage. Donations for these service projects are accepted as well.
